About the filmmaker:
Jennifer Reeder is a Columbus-born artist, filmmaker, and screenwriter whose innovative short and feature films focus on stories about relationships, trauma and coping. She is a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) and The Ohio State University. She was the recipient of two Artist Residency Awards at OSU’s Wexner Center, which enabled her to direct her first feature-length narrative, Accidents at Home and How They Happen (2008), and her acclaimed feature Knives and Skin (2019). Her other feature films include Signature Move (2017), Night’s End (2022), and the segment “Holy Hell” in the 2021 anthology V/H/S/94. Her films have competed at numerous films festivals around the world, including Sundance, Berlin, Tribeca, Rotterdam, and SXSW. In 2020, director Bong Joon-ho named Reeder one of “20 directors who are pivotal to the future of cinema” in Sight and Sound magazine. Perpetrator (2023) is her most recent feature film.
